Today is our first fellowship in the month of August which has been designated as the membership month. Rotary international and our district 9211 have underlined the importance of membership. Every Rotarian should appreciate the importance of increasing our numbers and quality of our Rotarians.
Rotary club of Namugongo has entered the membership month after the board has improved two prospective Rotarians – both great individuals in character and profile. Indeed I look forward to Pious and Eldard transforming into outstanding Rotarians.
As a Rotarian, you can contribute in at least two cardinal ways. First you can make your membership count by participating in different avenues of service. Am sure you are aware of these avenues. Most important, other Rotarians from Namugongo and beyond need to enjoy your friendship and fellowshipping with you. Also you need to encourage other Rotarians to do more rotary work. Second, you can invite new members to joint rotary either at our club or any other club. Your relatives, workmates, employers, employees, OB’s, OG’s, Service providers, and customers among others. I am confident; at least 50% will surpass the criteria for new Rotarians.
This month and the rest of the rotary year, I look forward to more invitations, more rotary works as we make a difference to the world through rotary service.
